“Reading Vatican II” – New Course for Term 2, 2013

We are glad to announce that there will be a new course starting on Monday May 6 2013 at Mary Glowrey House especially designed for the Year of Faith: “Reading Vatican II”. I am currently seeking affirmation from our local authority whether the plenary indulgence for the Year of Faith (outlined here) would be available for students doing this course.

Also, if you missed it first time around, I am repeating our First Term course, “Face to Face with Jesus in the Gospel of John”, at St Benedict’s parish in a one day seminar on Saturday 27th of April 2013.

Term One 2013 – New Course starting February 11, 2013

Welcome to a new year and a new series of courses at Anima Education in Melbourne, Victoria.

Our Term One course is “Face to Face with Jesus – in the Gospel of St John”. This course is designed with the Year of Faith in mind. Pope Benedict reminded us in his first Encyclical Deus Caritas Est that “being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person”. John wrote his Gospel “so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (Jn 20:31).

This will be an chance to encounter Jesus in our reflective reading of the Gospel of Saint John – a wonderful way to prepare for Easter during Lent too! Click here for full details.

Looking ahead to the rest of 2013, it is my intention to run a course in Term Two on reading the key documents of the Second Vatican Council, in line with the Holy Father’s encouragement that all the faithful familiarise themselves with these important documents for the life of our Church. Change of Date for Ballarat weekend on “The New Mass”

We have been informed that the original date chosen for the Ballarat Weekend Seminar on “The New Mass” was in fact Grand Final Weekend (blame me – I’m no footballer!).
